What does it take to be a great nurse? Definitely education, clinical experience, personal drive to help others, determination to deliver best possible care with great outcomes. Nurses in the most developed countries use evidence based practice to perform clinical duties and deliver high-quality care. They adhere to a specific scope of practice, ethical behavior, and professional communication to ensure patient safety. However, as I came to find out Russian nursing lacks modern nursing structure and education could not compare to any international schools of nursing. As a professional, who got educated abroad with many years of clinical experience, I took a leadership role of an educator of my Russian colleagues to introduce the best nursing practices known in the world nowadays.
