During his tenure at the Andhra University, Dr. Gedela explored new avenues in biotechnology using computational and statistical methods, under the supervision of Dr. Allam Appa Rao. He was consequently declared as the winner of Young Scientist Award.
Dr. Gedela flew to the US to pursue postdoctoral studies at the Stanford University, and interact with a number of scholars. He was invited to several conferences in Europe and Asia-Pacific, including an international conference in Seoul where he presented his research on comparative micro-analysis of expressed genes in diabetics vis-a-vis normal subjects. Around the same time, he founded the OMICS Group with the launch of the first open access journal in Proteomics.
The OMICS Group also organizes conferences as part of the efforts to bridge the geographical gap between scientists across the globe in the specific discipline, and Dr. Gedela travels frequently to ensure such events meet their goals in the best interest of scientific community. |
